AIPGMET 2009 Eligibility

The candidate must be an Indian National. Nationality certificate issued by the District Magistrate or Additional District Magistrate or Chief Metropolitan Magistrate / valid passport shall constitute proof of nationality.

The candidate must have passed M.B.B.S Examination from a recognized medical college and should have obtained final registration either from the Medical Council of India, New Delhi or Maharashtra Medical Council after completion of one year rotating internship training.

The candidate undergoing one year rotating internship training and likely to obtain final registration certificate from the Medical Council of India, New Delhi or Maharashtra Medical Council on or before the 15 April 2009 can also appear for the Entrance Test.

Such candidates will be required to submit a certificate from the Principal / Dean of the College regarding the likely date of completion of has rotating internship training failing which his application will be treated as incomplete and shall be rejected.


AIPGMET 2009 Kolhapur Application Form

Application Form: A Candidate desirous of appearing for All India Post Graduate Medical Entrance Test of this University will be required to submit application in the prescribed form along with attested copies of the documents in support of application.

Entrance Test Fee: The Entrance Test Fee is Rs 2000/-. The fee is payable by demand draft drawn in favour of "Registrar, D.Y. Patil University" drawn on a nationalized / schedule bank, payable at Kolhapur. The Candidate should write his / her name and address on the reverse side of the demand draft.

Price of Brochure: Rs. 1000/-

Entrance Test: Rs. 2000/-

Late Fee: Rs. 1000/-

The last date for receipt of completed application form along with requisite documents and entrance test fee at the University Office is up to 5 PM on 31st January 2009 (With late fee of Rs. 1000 /- up to 07th February 2009). It will be the responsibility of the candidate to ensure that his / her application reaches the office of the University within the specified time and date.

The application received after the due date or without entrance test fee / supporting document shall be rejected and such candidates shall not be allowed to appear the entrance test. The University will not be responsible for the non-receipt of application within the specified time and due to postal or courier sevices delays.

AIPGMET 2009 Kolhapur Examination Scheme

1. The AIPGMET-2009 will be of three and half hours duration containing 300 multiple choice questions (MCQs). Questions will be of single best response objective type with four answer options. Each correct answer will be awarded one mark. There shall be no negative marking for incorrect answers.

2. The Examination will be conducted in English.

3. The Entrance Testshall be of the standard of M.B.B.S. Examination and shall coverall the subjects of the M.B.B.S. course. The subject wise distribution of MCQs will be as follows.

4. There shall be no verification of marks or reassessment in paper of AIPGMET 2009. If there is any objection on the conduct of examination or declaration of result, then he has to pay Rs. 5000/- as objection fees with the written objection letter.



AIPGMET 2009 Kolhapur Selection Procedure

A. The selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of inter-se-merit of the candidates taking into consideration the preference given by the candidate and availability of seat in the branch/discipline of his choice when it is his turn for counselling.

B. Tie Breaker

In case of equal marks at AIPGMET 2009 inter-se-merit of the candidates will be determined by applying following tie breaker rules:

  1. First Level: A Candidate securing higher percentage of marks in the aggregate of marks at the First, Second and Third M.B.B.S. (Part I & II) Examinations taken together will be preferred. If the tie still persists, then:

  1. Second Level: A candidate securing higher percentage of marks in the Third M.B.B.S. (Part I & II) Examination will be preferred. If the tie still persists, then

  2. Third Level: A Candidate securing higher percentage of marks at the Second M.B.B.S. Examination will be preferred. If the tie still persists then

  3. Fourth Level: An older candidate will be preferred overayounger candidate.

Declaration of Result

The result of the All India Post Graduate Medical Entrance Test 2009 in the form of merit list arranged according to the marks obtained by the candidates containing names of the candidates will be declared at 3.30 PM on 27tn February 2009 at the University office and on website.

AIPGMET 2009 - Pune Eligibility

The candidate who possesses Indian Nationality, with a proof in the form of Nationality Certificate / valid passport, is eligible to appear for AIPGMET-09.

The candidate who has passed final MBBS examination from a recognised medical college, included in the schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, is eligible.

The candidate who has obtained registration either from the Medical Council of India or from authorised State Medical Council after completing one-year compulsory rotating internship.

The candidate who is still undergoing one-year compulsory rotating internship and is likely to complete it by 31st March 2009, will be permitted to appear at the AIPGMET-09.

His / Her selection will be subject to completion of compulsory rotating internship of one year and registration before 15th April 2009.

He / she will have to submit documentary evidence from the Principal / Dean of the college regarding the anticipated date of completion of internship along with the application, failing which, his / her application shall be rejected.

The NRI, PIO or FN candidate who has passed the MBBS or equivalent examination exam from a college outside India shall be eligible for the admission, provided he/she obtains registration from the Medical Council of India.

Scheme of Entrance Test:

  • Marks: Maximum marks: 300
  • Questions: 300 objective type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). Each MCQ will have four answer options and a single best response.
  • Negative Marking: There will be no negative marking.
  • Standard (level) of the Test: MBBS examination standard.
  • Subjects: All subjects of MBBS Course.

AIPGMET 2009 Pune Application Form

There are separate brochures, for the two colleges. The brochures will be available from 01/09/2008

  • from the University office on payment of Rs.1000/- in cash or D.D. OR
  • (if required by post) through a requisition letter (specifying the brochure required) along with a demand draft of Rs. 1250/- drawn on any nationalized bank, in favour of "Registrar, Dr. D. Y. Patil University", payable at Pune OR
  • by downloading from the University website.

The downloaded form is to be submitted along with a demand draft of Rs.3250/ (Form Fee + Test Fee + Postal charges).

The candidate will have to submit his/her application for AIPGMET-09 in the prescribed form included in this Information Brochure.

The fee of AIPGMET-09 is Rs. 2,000/- (in the case of late submission, Rs. 2500/-), to be paid by a Demand Draft, drawn in favour of "The Registrar, Dr. D. Y. Patil University, Pimpri" Payable at Pune.

AIPGMET 2009 Admission Procedure:

1. Candidate should obtain 50 % or more marks at AIPGMET-09 to qualify for admission .

2. The provisional selection for the General Seats in the Post Graduate courses will be done on the basis of merit in the All India Post Graduate Medical Entrance Test (AIPGMET-09).

3. When all the Seats in a given course are filled admission of students to that course will instantaneously cease and Dr. D. Y. Patil University, Pune, will not be responsible for non availability of seats and non-allotment of seats to rest of the candidates.

4. Management Seats: 50% seats are reserved as management seats. The candidate desirous of seeking admission against management seats should apply separately in the prescribed form, available on the University Website. The selection of candidates for management seats will be done according to the inter se merit of the applicants in the entrance test (AIPGMET-09).
