Admission for MBA Program 2009 - 2011
Eligibility
The minimum qualification for admission to MBA
programme is Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from any university
recognized by the Association of Indian Universities with 50% marks.
Candidates of current batch who would be completing all requirements for the Bachelor's Degree by 30 June 2009 may also apply.
Such candidates, if selected, will be admitted
provisionally and will be required to produce evidence to establish
their eligibility by 15 September 2009, failing which they will be dropped from the programme.
Eligibility for Army Categories
1) The applicants must fall into one of the following categories:
Wards of serving Army personnel.
Wards of ex Army personnel granted/awarded regular pension.
Wards of ex Army personnel granted/awarded
liberalized family pension, family pension or disability pension at the
time of their superannuation, demise, discharge, release medical
board/invalided medical board. This includes wards of recruits
medically boarded out and granted disability pension.
Wards of ex Army personnel who have taken discharge/release after ten years of service.
2 ) Adopted/Step Children and Children of Remarried Widows:
Adopted Child of Army personnel adopted at least five years prior to seeking admission.
Step Children are eligible provided they are born out of a wedding where at least one parent belonged to the Army.
Children of Widows of Army personnel who are
born as a result of second marriage with Army personnel. However,
children of widows of Army personnel born out of remarriage with
Non-Army personnel would not be eligible for admission.
3) Eligibility Criteria in Special Cases:
Eligibility Criteria for Wards of
Ex Army Medical Corps Officers/Army Dental Corps Officers Presently
Serving with IN/IAF. Wards of only those ex-Army Medical officers/Army
Dental Corps officers presently serving with Indian Navy/Indian Air
Force who have served with the Army for 10 years.
Eligibility Criteria for Children of APS Personnel.
Children of APS personnel
classified as ex-servicemen as per Government of India, Ministry of
Defence letter No 9 (52)/88/D(Res) dated 19 Jul 89.
Children of those APS personnel who are on deputation and who have put in 10 years of service in the Army.
Children of APS personnel who are directly
recruited into APS and of those who, as per their terms and conditions
of service, retired from APS after completing their minimum pensionable
service.
Eligibility Criteria for Children of MNS/TA Personnel : The following are eligible:-
Children of only those members of
MNS who have 10 years service as regular members of MNS or are in
receipt of pension from the Army.
Children of only those TA personnel who have completed 10 years of embodied service.
(Necessary certificates as given in the prospectus
may please be attached alongwith the application. Please also mention
the Para and Sub Para on the certificate under which you are eligible)
Intake: Present batch size is 120 (80% seats for Army wards and 20% seats for General category)
AIMT 2009 Selection Procedure: Applicant shall have to appear in Common Admission Test (CAT) to be conducted by IIMs on November 16, 2008.
Candidates short-listed on the basis of CAT score will be called for
Group Discussion and Personal Interview at AIM Kolkata for final
selection.
(AIMK uses CAT score for shortlisting the candidates
for two-year full time Post-graduate Programme in Management. IIMs have
no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the
programme.)

For CAT Bulletin with application form, candidates are requested to consult the advertisement for CAT - 2008 issued by IIMs on 13 July 2008.
AIMK's Prospectus with application form can be
obtained through Post/Courier by sending a Demand Draft of Rs 800/- for
Army wards and Rs 900/- for General candidates, drawn in favour of
"Director - AIM" and payable at Kolkata (or by hand, may be in cash, Rs
750/- for Army wards and Rs 850/- for General candidates), from the

Downloaded Application form should be accompanied by demand draft or
