ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION TO B.TECH.
Educational Qualification
Candidates should have passed 12th standard or equivalent
examination with a minimum average of 60% in Mathematics, Physics and
Chemistry. Candidates should have appeared for the Engineering Entrance
Examination-2009 conducted by B.S.Abdur Rahman University for admission.
Note: Students who will be appearing for the above examinations in April/May 2009 may also apply.
ENGINEERING ENTRANCE EXAMINATION 2009 (BSAUEEE 2009)

Abdur Rahman University is conducting its Engineering Entrance
Examination on an all India basis for admission to the 4 year B.Tech
Degree programmes. Candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria will
be given admission to the first year B.Tech programmes through
counselling, based on their performance in qualifying examinations and
in the Engineering Entrance Examination.

Research
The role of the Research &
Development Council is to enhance research and development activities
that would enable B. S. Abdur Rahman Univeristy to attain the status of
a renowned Intellectual corporation that fosters excellent research,
development, sponsored projects, continuing education, consultancy, and
industry-institute-Interaction, in addition to excellent teaching. The
eminent external members of the Council have been drawn from the elite
of the various industry and of repute institutions.
The R&D Council is all set to motivate and encourage the faculty to
carry out research work, generate project proposals, to tap funds from
governmental and industrial funding agencies and establish centres of
excellence in the University as well as to interact with industries in
and around Chennai. The council facilitates the faculty to enhance
their academic qualification and to help them in proper planning and
coordination of the research and development activities. The Council
further helps the departments to analyse their strengths and weaknesses
so as to identify the field of research in frontline or appropriate
technology for tapping funds. The Council periodically reviews the
research work carried out by the faculty, while emphasising the
importance of industry–institute interaction, and facilitates taking up
project and consultancy work, which in turn, helps students in their
training and placement. Most important, the R &D Council bridges
the gap between demand and availability of trained manpower with
adequate technical knowledge by encouraging the departments to organise
extension programmes for different categories of students.
A task force serves as an interface between various departments for
easy facilitation of the enhancement of R & D activities of the
Univeristy.
