ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA & OTHER DETAILS: All the eligibility
[qualification, experience, age etc] shall be computed as on 01.01.2009.
Post Code-1: Probationary Clerks
a) Qualification: Pass in 10+2 with 60% [SC/ST/PWD candidates – 55%] OR a pass in Graduation.
Should have studied the local language of the State for which he/she is
applying (as I/II/III language) either at SSLC/SSC or 10+2 or
Graduation level.
b) Job Profile: General Banking, House keeping etc and any other work assigned by the Bank from time to time.
Post Code-2: Probationary Officers [JMGS-I]:
a) Qualification: Graduation with First Class-with 60% [SC/ST/PWD candidates – 55%].
b) Job Profile: General Banking, House keeping etc and any other work assigned by the Bank from time to time.
Post Code-3: Investment Officers [on Contract]
a) Qualification:
A Graduate in any discipline, preferably with MBA, and having flair for
marketing the Insurance, Mutual Fund and other products of the Bank.
Candidate should possess the following;
- Passion for Marketing
- Work independently and also with team
- Computer literacy
- Good communication skills Preference will be given to
those candidates who have prior experience in marketing / insurance
business.
Since the job involves extensive travelling, candidates should have
good physical fitness and ready to accept the challenges & meeting
the targets.
b) Job Profile:
Marketing the Insurance, Mutual Fund and other products of the Bank.
Responsible for end-to-end sales. Any other work assigned by the Bank
from time to time.
c) Period of Contract Three [3] years with an option to extend for two years at the discretion of the Bank.
d) Compensation Fixed Pay:
Rs.15000/- per month subject to achievement of minimum threshold
premium of Rs.1 lakh per month i.e., Rs.12 lakhs per annum.

Variable Pay:
Over
and above the threshold limit, he/she will be entitled for variable pay
and the variable pay is equivalent to 15% of the commission received by
the Bank.
The
contract appointees, who fail to achieve performance with a minimum
target-premium of Rs.3.00 lakhs per quarter, consecutively for two
quarters, beginning from the second quarter of their appointment shall
cease to continue as contract appointees of the bank from the last day
of the month from the end of the second quarter under review. However,
if any candidate fails to achieve minimum threshold limit of Rs.3 lakhs
in any quarter, Bank reserves right to break the contract.
e) Other Benefits:
Casual Leave – 10 days per calendar year Annual Leave- 20 days in a
calendar year - The Annual Leave can be encashed to the extent of 50%
every year. Carry over of unavailed casual/annual leave shall not be
permitted.

crossed Demand Draft issued by any Scheduled Commercial Bank in favour
of Canara Bank –Recruitment Project – 2009 payable at Mumbai.

Even if the last date of registration changes due to technical reasons,
the valid dates of demand drafts will not be changed

The selection for post codes 1, 2 & 4 is on the basis of qualifying
in the written test and performance in interview.
The written test shall consist of Objective Test & Descriptive Test. The details of test are as follows;

There will be negative marks for wrong answers in Objective Test. Other
details regarding the test will be given to the candidates in the
“Acquaint Yourself Booklet”, which will be sent along with the call
letter for written examination.
Depending on the number of vacancies, such of those candidates who rank
sufficiently high in the order of merit in the written test as per the
cut off marks decided by the Bank will only be called for interview.
Mere admission to the test / eligibility / pass in the test does not
imply that the Bank is satisfied beyond doubt about the candidates’
eligibility and shall not vest any right in a candidate for being
called for interview.
