SSC Combined Graduate Level Exam 2008 - Vacancy Details



Vacancies/Researvation

Firm number of vacancies will be determined in due course.

  1. Reservation as per instructions of DOPT will be made for Scheduled Casts, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, Ex-Serviceman, PH candidates for all categories of posts wherever admissible as per extant Government Orders.
  2. Vacancies for Ex-S will be reserved as per extant Government Order for Group “C” posts.
  3. Reservation for Ex-Servicemen in direct recruitment for the Group “B” Non-Gazetted Posts is not applicable as per extant Government Order.

Other Backward Class (OBC) for the purpose of Age Relaxation and Reservation will mean “Persons of OBC category not belonging to the Creamy Layer’’ as defined in Government of India, Department of Personnel & Training OM No. 36012/22/93-Estt. (SCT,) dated 08.09.1993 and modified vide Goverment of India Department of Personnel and Training OM No. 36033/3/2004-Estt(Res) dated 09.03.2004

 

Note I:

Female candidates are eligible for all categories of posts specified in the Notice.

Note II:

Candidates selected for appointment are liable to serve anywhere in India i.e. Most of these posts carry All India Service Liability (AISL).

Note: III

  1. Physically Challenged/Handicapped (Orthopaedically Handicapped/Hearing Handicapped/Visually Handicapped) candidates are not eligible for the post of Sub Sub-Inspectors in CBI and Assistant Enforcement Officers and hence, no reservation for them.
  2. Disabled Persons (OH) with one leg affected, one arm affected or partially Hearing impaired with assistive devises are eligible for the post of Inspector (Central Excise), Inspector (Preventive Officer), Inspector (Examiner).
  3. Visually Handicapped persons, Colour blind and one one-eyed persons are not eligible for the posts of Inspector (Central Excise), Inspector (Preventive Officer) and Inspector (Examiner).

  4. Inspector of Posts is not identified as suitable post for reservation for Physically Handicapped candidates candidates, and hence no reservation for PH category.

    Candidates must be a person of active habits and physically able to stand the strain of constant Railway traveling by night and as well as by day.

Visually Handicapped candidates are eligible only for the posts of Assistant under Scheme “A” and UDC under Scheme “B”.

Note IV:

Though Physical standard have been specified for posts of Inspector (Central Excise) Inspector (Preventive Officer) and Inspector (Examiner),Orthopadically Handicapped (OH) candidates, however, are eligible for these posts and are exempted from such physical standard as prescribed subject to their being otherwise medically fit.

4. Nationality/Citizenship:

A candidate must be either:

  1. A citizen of India, or
  2. A subject of Nepal, or
  3. A subject of Bhutan, or
  4. A Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the Ist January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
  5. A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the Examination but the offer of appointment will be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him by the Government of India.
