SSC Combined Graduate Level Exam 2008 Exam Scheme
(I) Scheme of the Examination for Combined Graduate Level Examination
The Scheme of the Examination will be conducted in three tiers as indicated below:
- 1st Tier A - Preliminary (Written) Examination (Objective Type)
- 2nd Tier B - Main Written Examination (Conventional type)
- 3rd Tier C - Personality Test /Interview (only for posts/services under Scheme ‘A’)
A. Combined Graduate Level (Preliminary) Examination:
This Examination, as a part of 1st Tier, would be common for all the categories of posts as under.
There
will be one paper having two parts – General Intelligence & General
Awareness (Part A) and Arithmetic (Part B), each having 100 questions
Scheme of Preliminary Examination for all candidates (excluding
Visually isually Handicapped candidates including blind and partially
blind persons with visual disability of forty percent and above and
opting for availing the assistance of scribe scribe).

Questions will be of Objective Multiple Type Choice. The questions will be set in Hindi/English.
Scheme
of Combined Graduate Lev Scheme Level (Preliminary) Examination, 2008
for Visually Handicapped candidates (including blind and partially
blind persons) with visualdisability of forty percent and above and
opting for availing the assistance of scribe scribe.

The
above examination may be condu conducted in two cted shifts fo for
different r batches of candidates by the Commission, wherever necessary
necessary.
- There will be one session of two hours duration ( 3 Hrs. 10 Minutes for VH candidate).
The
questions in both the parts will be Objective Multiple Choice
Choice-Type and will be set both in English and in Hindi. (For Visually
Handicapped candidates Part – A will comprise General Studies Studies).
Visually
Handicapped candidates, on prior request, will be allowed to avail the
facility of Scribes for indicating the replies on his/her beh behalf
alf either in Hindi or in English.
(B) Scheme of Examination for Combined Graduate Level (Main) Examination:
This examination, as part of 2nd tier, will be a descriptive (conventional) type written examination.
It will consist of different papers/subjects, depending upon the category of post the candidate is appearing for.
The
category-wise (i.e. nature of post applied for) details of
papers/subjects, maximum marks for each paper and duration for each
paper are indicated below:

Scheme – A
For
the post of assistants, inspector of income-tax/inspector (central
Excise etc.,) sub inspector in cbi, inspector of posts, assistant
Enforcement officer.
Part – I
The main examination will consists of two parts - Part- I : Written Examination and Part –II: Personality Test.

Note:
All the Question Papers for the Main Examination will be of conventional type.
Candidates
will have the option to answer Paper –I (General Studies), Paper–III
(Arithmetic) and Paper–V (Communication Skill and Writing Ability)
either in Hindi or English. Accordingly, these Question Papers will be
both in Hindi and English languages.
The
Commission will have the full discretion to fix separate minimum
qualifying marks in each of the papers and in the aggregate of all the
papers separately for each category of candidates (viz.
SC/ST/OBC/PH/ExS/General (UR) ). Only those candidates who qualify in
all the papers as well as in the aggregate would be eligible to be
considered for being called for the Personality Test/ Interview.
Paper
I, II and III will be compulsory for all the candidates The Commission
will have the discretion to fix the qualifying standard in Paper II.
However, Paper – II will be of qualifying nature only for the
candidates who are opting for the post of Assistant (i.e., for the
candidates who are opting for the post of Assistant, the marks secured
in this paper will not be counted for preparation of the final select
list).
Scripts of the remaining papers
will be evaluated only of those candidates who secure the minimum
qualifying standard in Paper II of the Combined Graduate Level (Main)
Examination, 2008. For other categories of posts under the said Scheme,
the marks obtained by the candidates in Paper II will be counted for
preparation of the Select List .
Paper IV will be compulsory for all the candidates except those opting for the post of Assistant.
Paper V will be compulsory for candidates opting for the post of Assistant only.
There
will be different set of Questions for the papers on Arithmetic &
General Studies for Visually Handicapped (VH) candidates which shall
not have any component of Map/Graphs/Statistical Data/
Diagrams/Figures/Geometrical problems/Pie-chart etc. However,
components of other papers under Scheme – A of the examination for VH
candidates will be the same as that for general candidates.
VH candidates will be allowed to bring their own Tailor Frame and Braille Slate With Paper for solving arithmetical problems.
VH candidates are eligible for the post of Assistant only under Scheme ‘A’.
VH
candidates are not required to appear in Paper IV i.e. Language
Comprehension, as Paper IV is meant for the posts of Inspector of
Income Tax, Sub Inspector in CBI, Inspector of Post etc. for which VH
candidates are not eligible.
Scheme B
Scheme for Recruitment to the Post of Divisional Accountant/ Auditor/Udc, Etc. (Conventional Type)
The main Examination will consist of the following papers :

Note
The question papers for the main examination will be of Conventional type.
Candidates will have the option to Answer Paper–I Part (B), and Paper-II, either in Hindi or in English.
There
will be different set of Questions for the papers on Arithmetic &
General Studies for Visually Handicapped (VH) candidates which shall
not have any component of Map/Graphs/Statistical
Data/Diagrams/Figures/Geometrical problems/Pie-chart etc. However,
components of English Paper under Scheme B of the examination for VH
candidates will be the same as that for VH candidates will be the same
as that for general candidates.
VH candidates shall be allowed to bring their own Tailor Frame And Braille Slate With Paper for solving arithmetical problems.
VH candidates are eligible for the post of UDC only under Scheme B.
The
