Note:

  • The numbers of vacancies as also the number of reserved vacancies are provisional and may very according to actual requirements of the Bank.
  • Candidates belonging to reserved categories, including Persons with disabilities candidates for which no vacancy has been announced are free to apply against vacancies announced for general category.
  • As the reservation for VH/HI/OH candidates are on horizontal basis, the selected candidates will be placed in the appropriate category to which the candidates belong.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
NATIONALITY/ CITIZENSHIP

A candidate must be either i) a citizen of India or ii) a subject of Nepal or iii) a subject of Bhutan or iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, The United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyka and Zanzibar), Zasmbia Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently setting in India. Provided that a candidate belonging the categories (ii), (iii), (iv) or (v) above shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility in necessary may be admitted to the examination/interview conducted by the Bank but on final selection the offer of appointment may be given only after the necessary eligibility certificates have been issued to him by the government of India.
 
EDUACTIONAL QUALIFICATION (As on date of application) Candidates whose result is awaited are not eligible.

Second Class with 55% or more (45% for SC/ST /VH/HI /CH candidates) marks Graduate from a recognized University of any equivalent examination recognized as Such by the Government of India

RELAXATION IN UPPER AGE LIMIT:

  • Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe candidates by 5 years
  • Ex Servicemen by 3 years (in addition to the usual period of service in the Defence  forces subject  to a maximum age of 50 years)
  • Other Backward Class candidates by 3 years
  •  All persons who had ordinarily been domiciled in Kashmir Division of J&k State during 01.01.1980 to 31.12. 1989 by 5 years as an Ex Serviceman for his re- employment he as serviceman status for the purpose of  re – employment in government ceases b) The relaxation in upper age  limit is cumulative as per Govt. of India guidelines   C  All persons eligible  for age 
  • Relaxation under 3 (v) above must produce the domicile certificate at the time of interview, from the District Magistrate in the Kashmir Division with in whose justification he/ she had ordinarily resided or any other authority designated in this regard by the Govt. of Jammu & Kashmir to the effect that the candidate had ordinary been domiciled in the Kashmir Division of State of Jammu & Kashmir during 1” January .1980 to the 31” day December .1989.

4. APPLICATION FEE INCLUDING POSTAL CHARGES (Non- REFUNDABLE)

NOTE: (i) Requisite application fee must be  paid by means of Bank pay Order / Bank Draft  issued by a Scheduled Commercial Bank payable at MUMBAI in favor of CORPORATION  BANK RECRUITMENT PROJECT PROBATIONARY OFFICER (ii) Bank Draft Bank Pay Order must be purchased on or after 03.05.2008 but on or before 31.05.2008 and has to be sent along with the print  out of the computer generated on line application by ordinary post only to Corporation Bank Post Box No 9058 Goregaon (East Mumbai -400 053).

5. SELECTION PROCEDURE

  All the eligible candidates who apply with the requisite fee and whose application are received in time will be called for a written examination  which will compose of objective and descriptive papers  The Objective tests will consist of Test of Reasoning Ability (TRA) Test of Quantitative Aptitude (TQA) Test of General Awareness on Socio- Economic Developments and Test of English Language

The Descriptive paper consists of 5 compulsory questions with internal options to assess knowledge on Socio – Candidates shall have the option to answer  the Descriptive Paper either  in Hindi or English The Descriptive Test is only a qualifying test.

The detailed information regarding the written examination will be given in the “Acquaint Yourself booklet which will be sent to the candidates along with the call letter for written examination. 

NOTE:

      • Candidates have to pass in each of the Objective and Descriptive test separately and there will be negative marks for  wrong answers in the Objectives Tests
      •  Depending upon the number of vacancies. Only those candidates who rank sufficiently high in the objective test will be called for interview. Mere eligibility pass in the examination shall not vest any right in a candidate for being call for interview.
      • Final selection will be on the basis of merit ranking after doing adding the marks obtained in the Objective Tests and Interview be reckoned for the purpose  of merit ranking.

d) The Bank reserves the right it so desires, to hold a second stage of written examination of first stage as referred above if the second stage of written  examination is held, the subsequent process of interview and further process would be on the basis of order of merit of the second stage examination. 

6. EXAMINATION CENTERS AND DATE OF EXAMINATION:
The written examination is tentatively fixed for Sunday, the 20th of July, 2008 at the following Centers. The Centers are tentative and may change

  • After applying on – line the registered candidates should obtain a print out of the Computer Generated on Line Application sign at the appropriate place and send along with Application fee (i.e., Demand Draft / Bank Pay Orders) Candidates should retain a photocopy of their Demand Draft and the above print out for future reference.
  • A recent photograph should be passed on the Print – out.
  • Candidates‘s name and Date of Birth should be written on the reverse of Demand Draft Bank Pay Order.

Note:
a) Each Print out of Computer Generated On – Line application must be accompanied by (i) Bank Draft/ Bank Pay Order (ii) Copies of under mentioned certificates (only attested true copies of certificate) should be sent by candidates along with the application through Ordinary Post.

(i) Secondary School Certificate School Leaving Certificate or any other documentary proof of age.
(ii) Marks Sheets (year – wise) showing specifically the subject studied and certificates in support of educational qualification viz., SSLC, HSC, Graduate Degree, Post graduate Degree etc.

(iii) Experienced certificate‘s specifying designation job profile period of service (with specific dates emoluments activity profile of previous and present employers etc).
(b) Selected candidates will be required to produce a valid discharge certificate from the present employer before joining the service.

12 CALL LETTERS:

Call letter for written examination will be sent to the eligible candidates at the correspondence address given in their application form by ordinary post and requests for sending letters  to a different  address subsequently will not be accepted An eligible candidate who does not received the call letter by 14.07.2008 may contact the Bank at the following address Pertaining to the related centers between 15.07.2008 and 19.07.2008 indicating his/ her name address, date of birth details of Bank Demand Draft / Bank Pay Order and examination centre opted to enable  the Bank to take immediate remedial action .
