It is a premier Institute of national and international repute, devoted to research in various aspects of atmospheric sciences with emphasis on tropical meteorology, particularly on the Climate Change and Indian Monsoon. It's activities include training to post graduates and motivate them to take up research careers in atmospheric sciences which is a major component that the human society faces now. The Institute has excellent infrastructures facilities such as high performance computers, modern library, workshop and other scientific support. Applications are invited from young Doctorates / Post graduates for appointment to the following temporary positions. 1) IITM Research Associate : 5 Posts ( 1 post reserved for orthopedic handicapped & 4 posts for general category ) a) Stipend : Rs. 16000/- plus admissible HRA. b) Tenure : One year. 2) IITM Research Fellow : 8 posts ( 1 post reserved for visually handicapped 1 post reserved for hearing handicapped 6 posts for general category ) a) Stipend : Rs. 12000/- plus admissible HRA. b) Tenure : 4 years.
