How to Apply
Admission will be granted through an entrance test conducted by the Institute of Hotel Management, Aurangabad on an all India basis. Eligible candidates are required to register themselves for the written examination. Upon receipt of the completed application form, IHM-A will inform the applicant of the selection test center closest to you. The application form can be downloaded from our website www.ihma.ac.in
 
A crossed Demand Draft of Rs. 1, 000/- (One Thousand Only) in favour of“Institute of Hotel Management”, payable at Aurangabad- Maharashtra should be sent along with the filled in application form.

The last date for submitting applications is given in the application form.

Applications must be accompanied with:
1.
School or College Leaving Certificate (if the applicant is not a student currently) or Mark Sheet and a Provisional/Passing Certificate of the qualifying examination from the institution attended
2. Certificate & Mark Sheets of any other Degree or Diploma examination
3.
A Character and Conduct Certificate from the Principal of the Institute/School/College last attended

Birth Certificate

5.

Medical Certificate of Physical Fitness from a Registered Medical Practitioner.

The photograph affixed on the Application Form by the candidate should be recent in formal clothes taken in the last three months against a white background 4.5 cm x 3.5 cm
 
Note
  • Failure to submit any of the above will lead to rejection of the application
  • Original certificates should not be submitted with the application form. Candidates must submit attested copies of all certificates
  • If a student is granted admission, he/she will be required to produce original certificates for verification
  • A candidate who is found to have furnished false information will, if admitted be dismissed
  • While at the Institute, pursuing full time employment is not permitted
  • Any queries will be subject to the legal jurisdiction of Aurangabad (Maharashtra) only

Eligibility criteria for both the courses TOP
Successful completion of the Std.XII (10+2) or equivalent examination in any stream with English as the medium of instruction. Students appearing for their board exams in the current year are also eligible subject to successfully qualifying in the Board Examination.
 
All admissions will be as per the guidelines provided by the collaborating Foreign University-University of Huddersfield, UK
 
Payment of Fees
All fees are payable in advance for each year. Fees must be paid at the Institute tothe authorized person only. Fees must be paid through a crossed Bank Draft drawn in favour of “Institute of Hotel Management” and should be payable at Aurangabad, Maharashtra. Money orders or cheques will not be entertained. The payer must obtain a receipt for all amounts paid.
 
Selection Procedure
Applicants will be required to take a written test, which will be of 90 minutes duration and will carry 100 marks. The objective type written test will be on the following categories:
  • Abstract Reasoning
  • Verbal Reasoning
  • Reading Comprehension
  • Numerical Reasoning
  • General Knowledge
To qualify the written test, candidates will require to score at least 45% marks. Candidates short-listed after the written examination will be required to appear for a Group Discussion and a Personal Interview at a later date. Group Discussion will be of 50 marks and Personal interview of 100 marks.

The Personal Interview will be assessed on the following five criteria:

  • Communication Skill
  • Alertness and Analytical Skill
  • General Awareness
  • Warmth and Service Orientation

Dress code for Group Discussion and Interview
Students appearing for group discussion and interview are expected to adhere to the following dress code
1.
Boys should appear in formal attire i.e. Trouser, full sleeves shirt, neck tie and formal shoes
2. Girls should appear in formal attire in two piece business suits / sarees
 
Merit List
Based on marks obtained in the Written Test, Group Discussion and Personal interview. A merit list will be announced on the Notice Board of the Institute of Hotel Management, Aurangabad.
