Master of Science (MS) in Computer Science

Introduction:
The MS in Computer Science degree allows students to gain the skills needed to pursue a career as an information and computer scientist. It allows students to further develop their understanding of programming and other fundamentals of computer science. This program is designed for those who have a bachelor's degree in a computer-related subject.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Employee of any Organization engaged in Computer Science domain with minimum of 50% aggregate marks in BE/B Tech in Electrical Science Stream (computer science/Information Science/Electrical & Electronics / Electronics and communication / Instrumentation Engineering / MSc ( computer science Or Digital Electronics) /MCA & AMIE are Eligible to take direct admission in the course.
  • Employee Of any Organization in computer science domain with minimum of 50% marks in BE/ B Tech Non Electrical Science stream (Mechanical/ Civil /Chemicals etc) need to under go a bridge course program listed bellow and also need to score 50% marks in test conducted at the end of the programs

    2. Computer Organization & Artitecture
    3. Digital Electronics & Microprocessor
    4. Introduction To Database

  • Candidate with B.Sc degree with Mathematics as one of the core subjects) with minimum of 5 year of experience and Diploma with minimum of 8 year of experience in the relevant field needs to undergo a bridge program in the above module & needs to be secured 50% of marks in test conducted at the end of bridge programs course structure.

Teaching Methodology:
The courses will have regular classroom lectures every Saturday / Sunday for 8 hours. Apart from classroom lectures the other integral parts of the course are regular seminars, assignments and project work.

Course Structure:
The course comprises of four semesters of 6 months each. The first two semesters are classroom lecture based and the last two semesters are allocated to project work, which has to undertaken by the candidate at the workplace/organization that nominates the candidate.  Subject wise detail for each semester is given below:

Flexible format to suit the convenience of working professionals:

Breaks & transfer:
A student is allowed to take short and long term breaks as per the requirement of his job. In addition, in the event of job transfer a candidate can continue the same program at any of the following locations; Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad. Nomination Letter:
A candidate needs to submit a nomination letter from his current organization as he/she needs to use the company’s physical and other facilities for conducting the project work. A company nominating a candidate does not in any case means that the candidate is being sponsored by it. Click here for the format of nomination letter.

Attendance:
Students need to maintain a minimum attendance of 75% to be eligible for appearing for exams. Students who miss classes while on company’s assignment can avail exemption on missed classes by producing a written document/letter from the company. In such cases the minimum attendance required per subject cannot be less than 50% and the average attendance in the semester has to be 60%. If the above criteria is not met the candidate can take exams only for those subjects with attendance of 75% and above.

Validity:
Though the MS course is of two years duration a candidate will be allowed a maximum duration of 4 years from the date of admission for completing the program.
