NALSAR Entrance Test 2009
National Academy of Legal Studies and Research is commonly known as
NALSAR. It was established in the year 1998. The main objective of the
institute is to provide quality education to all its students. NALSAR
admits the students to the 5 years integrated BA LLB (hons) program
through the Common Law Entrance Test to be held on 11th May.

Eligibility
B.A. LLB (Hons)
- Candidates who have cleared the Higher Secondary Examination or
equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks are eligible for
admission.
- Candidates appearing for their final term this year may also apply.
- Candidates should be less than 20 years of age.
Test Pattern
- The entrance test for admission to the B.A LLB (Hons) includes
questions on general knowledge, reasoning and legal aptitude, general
English and comprehension, questions on current topics and essay
writing on current topics.
Division of seats of LLB Program
- There are a total of 80 seats
- 70 students are admitted by way of admission tests
- 11 seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste candidates.
- 5 seats are reserved for Scheduled Tribe candidates.
- There are 2 seats for physically handicapped candidates
- The overseas students are to be admitted through entrance
tests as well as their English skills and complete academic record.
These candidates have to apply straight to the Registrar of NALSAR,
Hyderabad. Applications have to be made with the application form that
has been provided and they need to furnish necessary documents.
Applications need to be made by second week in April, 2009.
Specializations in LLB Program
Every candidate has to opt for an area of specialization from the selection that has been mentioned below:
- Human Rights
- Insurance Laws
- Environment Law
- Constitutional Law
- Intellectual Property
- Criminal Law
- Corporate Law and Governance (including International Business)
LLM Course
- Candidates should have a LL.B/B.L degree or equivalent from any recognized University.
- A minimum of 55% marks is required for admission.
- Duration of the LLM Program is 2 years.
Test Pattern
- The entrance test conducted is of two hours duration. The entire
examination carries 200 marks and includes essays to be written on
general topics, constitutional law and Jurisprudence.
Application Form and Admission
- Candidates may send a request letter along with a demand draft of INR 1000 for obtaining the application form.
- In case of SC and ST candidates it is just INR 500
- The DD should be drawn in favor of Registrar NALSAR, Hyderabad.
- The duly filled application form and the demand draft should
be sent to the Assistant Registrar 3-4-761, Barkatpura, Hyderabad-500
027 within the given time period.
- The application forms can also be collected in person from the selected branches of Indian Bank against a payment of INR 1030.
- Candidates can also download the form from the official website of the University.
- Candidates downloading the form from the official website should pay the money during the time of submitting the form.
- Admission is conducted strictly on the basis of merit of the students and performance in the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT).
- There are sixty seats in total.
- The institution also keeps some of the seats reserved for SC (15%), ST (7.5%), and physically challenged candidates (3%).
- For foreign nationals 10 seats are kept reserved. The foreign
candidates should submit their application form along with all the
required documents. Admission in this case depends on the results of
the students in the entrance test, proficiency in English and academic
background.
