ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
Minimum 60% marks for Science graduates (55 % for SC/ST/PWD) & 55% for graduates in other streams (50% for SC/ST/PWD) in aggregate from a recognised University or any  equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Government of India with the same percentages as stipulated above.

Candidates with additional qualifications as MBA, CA, CFA , MCA etc. shall be preferred.
The candidate must possess the requisite educational qualification as on 01.10.2008

COMPUTER LITERACY - The basic knowledge in operating computer systems in Windows mode, knowledge of MS-Word/Office, Spread Sheets like MS-Excel and Internet & Email familiarity is an essential qualification which a candidate must either possess before joining the bank services or acquire the same within a period of 6 months of joining the bank, in case the candidate is selected for appointment.  For this purpose, the candidate is required to submit a certificate in support of this computer related qualification.
           
AGE – Minimum age – 21 years & Maximum age – 30 years as on 01.10.2008 i.e. applicants should have been born between 01.10.1987 & 30.09.1978 (both days inclusive)

 

SELECTION PROCEDURE

TThe selection will be made on the basis of performance in written test and interview.  The details of the written test shall be communicated to the candidates in advance.

Note:  The candidates shall be required to qualify in each objective test as per cut-off marks determined on the basis of Group Performance in each test subject to minimum 40% marks (35% in case of SC/ST/OBC/PC candidates) in aggregate out of 200 marks of the objective test.  Wrong answers given in the objective test will result in negative marks.

            b) DESCRIPTIVE TEST  

It will consist of 4 questions out of which the candidates are required to attempt 3 questions only.  The test will be of 60 marks (i.e. 20 marks for each question).  The minimum passing marks would be 40% for General Category candidates and 35% for SC, ST, OBC and PC candidates. Time duration for the test will be 45 minutes.  However, the test will be only qualifying and the marks obtained therein shall not be reckoned for preparing the merit list.  The candidates shall have the option to answer the descriptive test either in English or Hindi. Further, the descriptive paper will be evaluated to the extent of around 5 times the number of vacancies based on the merit ranking of the objective test.

Wherever written examination is held, the blind candidates and candidates whose writing speed is affected by cerebral palsy can use own scribe at their cost during the written examination.  In all such cases where a scribe is used, the following rules will apply:

  • The candidate will have to arrange his own scribe at his own cost
  • The academic qualification of the scribe should be one grade lower than the stipulated eligibility criteria
  • The scribe can be from any academic stream
  • The scribe should possess 60% or less marks in his own academic stream.
  • Both the candidate as well as the scribe will have to give a suitable undertaking, confirming that the scribe fulfils all the stipulated eligibility criteria for a scribe as mentioned above.  Further, in case it later transpires that he did not fulfill any of the laid down eligibility criteria or suppressed material facts, the candidature of the applicant will stand cancelled, irrespective of the result of the written test.
  • Such candidates who use a scribe shall be eligible for extra time of 20 minutes for every hour of the examination.

HOW TO APPLY

Application fee may be paid in cash at any of the Bank’s Core Banking Solution (CBS) Branches. After payment, the candidate must collect the payment receipt; the particulars thereof are to be quoted in the application and the original receipt must be produced along with the call letter at the time of the written test.

The last date of registering applications on-line is 3.11.2008. Application registration on our website will be open from 10.10.2008 to 3.11.2008. GUIDELINES FOR FILLING APPLICATION ARE AS UNDER:

Candidates should have a valid email id. This will help him/her in getting call letter/ interview advices etc. by email.

Candidate must ensure that on deposit of fee, the branch issues him a receipt which should invariably mention under-noted items :
(i) Receipt No.   (ii) Branch Name    (iii) Branch Code No.    (iv) Date of deposit and (v) Amount

The payment of fees should be made on or before 3.11.2008. This date will be same for the candidates belonging to far-flung areas.

Applications once made will not be allowed to be withdrawn and the application fee/ postage once paid shall not be refunded nor shall it be held in reserve for any other examination.

Candidates should keep a copy of the Application Printout and Payment Receipt (Receipt No.) for their record. An ‘Information Handout’ will be sent to the candidates alongwith the call letter for written test. Candidates serving in Government / Quasi Govt. offices, Public Sector Undertakings including Nationalised Banks and Financial Institutions will be required to submit ‘No Objection Certificate’ from the employer at the time of interview, failing which their candidature may not be considered and travelling expenses, if any other admissible, will not be paid. Original payment receipt will have to be submitted with the call letter at the time of written examination.
