Staff Selection Commission will hold on Sunday, the
24.05.2009, Junior Translators (CSOLS) Examination, 2009 for
recruitment to the post of Junior Translators(CSOLS), a Group “B’ post
(Non Gazetted, Ministerial) in the pay Band of Rs.9300-34800 plus Rs.
4200(Grade Pay) in various Offices/Department under Department of
Official Language all over the country.
Note-I: All the above stated posts
carry All India Service Liability (AISL) i.e. the Candidate, on
selection, could be asked to serve anywhere in the country.
Note-II: Candidates who appear for
the written examination and qualify for Interview may also be
considered for recruitment to the posts of Junior Translators in other
Goverment Organisations/Departments, subject to receipt of confirmed
number of vacancies from them before the Interviews or declaration of
the Final Results.
Applications in the Prescribed format are invited
from Eligible Candidates for the post of Junior Translators (Csols)
Examination, 2009.
The candidates will have to apply in the prescribed Application Form.
2. Vacancies / Reservation
- Firm number of vacancies for the post of Junior Translators (CSOLS) will be determined in due course.
- Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PH etc. categories are applicable as per extant Central Goverment Orders.
Note: 1
Orthopaedically Handicapped (OH), Visually
Handicapped (VH) and Partially Deaf/ Hearing Handicapped, Low
Vision(LV), Blind(B) candidates are eligible for the above posts.
Note: 2
Other Backward Class(OBC) for the purpose of Age
Relaxation and Reservation will mean “Persons of OBC category not
belonging to the Creamy Layer’’ as defined in Government of India,
Department of Personnel & Training OM No. 36012/22/93-Estt. (SCT,)
dated 08.09.1993 and modified vide Goverment of India Department of
Personnel and Training OM No. 36033/3/2004-Estt(Res) dated 09.03.2004
and 14.10.2008

The post of Junior Translators(CSOLS) being a Group
“B’, Non Gazetted, Ministerial post, there is no reservation for
Ex-Servicemen category.
However, benefit of age relaxation will be admissible to Ex-S candidates.
3. Nationality / Citizenship:
A candidate must be either:
- A Citizen of India, or
- A Subject of Nepal, or
- A Subject of Bhutan, or
A Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January,1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
A person of Indian origin who has migrated
from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya,
Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania(Formerly Tanganyika and
Zanzibar),Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the
intention of permanently settling in India.
Provided that a candidate belonging to categories
(b), (c), (d) and (e) above shall be a person in whose favour a
certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
A candidate in whose case a certificate of
eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the Examination but the
offer of appointment will be given only after the necessary eligibility
certificate has been issued to him by the Government of India.
