XIMB 2009 Eligibility

1. Postgraduate Diploma in Management, 2009-11. (MBA equivalent PGDM)

Eligibility:

Minimum three-year Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in any discipline, from a recognised University. Final year degree students, who expect to complete their final examinations and other requirements for obtaining the degree by June 15, 2009, may also apply.

Admissions Test (XAT 2009):

Register and appear for XAT to be held on January 4, 2009.

XIMB does not conduct a separate admission test, but uses XAT-2009 scores for short-listing its applicants for admission interview. XLRI has no role either in the final selection process or in the conduct of the programme.

2. Postgraduate Diploma in Rural Management, 2009-11. (PGDRM)

Eligibility:

Minimum three-year Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in any discipline, from a recognised University. Final year degree students, who expect to complete their final examinations and other requirements for obtaining the degree by June 15, 2008, may also apply.

Admission Test (IRMA Test or XAT 2009):

Apply and appear for one of the following written tests:

  1. The test to be conducted by Institute of Rural Management, Anand www.irma.ac.in on 9th November 2008 (refer to IRMA advertisement in newspapers),
  2. The XAT to be conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur www.xlri.edu on 4th January 2009.

Registering for IRMA test or XAT is a prerequisite for applying to XIMB's PGPRM programme.

3. Postgraduate Diploma in Management, 2009-12, for working executives. (PGDM-PT)

Eligibility:

  1. Minimum three years Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in any discipline, from a recognised University;
  2. At least 3 years of experience in executive capacity in an organisation of repute in the public, private or non-governmental sector. Self-employed persons should have minimum 5 years of experience after obtaining qualifying degree;
  3. Age limit: Between 24 and 45 years as on 01.07.2009; and
  4. No Objection or sponsorship certificate from the employer.

4. Doctoral Level Fellow Programme in Management. (FPM)

Eligibility:

Post-graduates in any discipline (or professional field) related to management with at least 55% marks, or graduate engineers with at least 55% marks and having at least two years of work experience are eligible to apply for the FPM.

In case the score is available on a letter-grade system, the Institute expects a minimum cumulative score of 4.80 on an 8-point scale (or 6.00 on a 10-point scale). Although the eligibility is defined in these terms, the Institute prefers applicants who have excellent academic record as well as rich managerial experience.



XIMB 2009 Application Form

1. Postgraduate Diploma in Management, 2009-11. (MBA equivalent PGDM)

Step 1: Apply separately for admission to XIMB's full-time PGDM programme, by clicking on XIMB Registration in the menu. Then enter your XAT ID and XAT password, and when authenticated you need to enter the required data in the Online Application Form, click "next" and "Submit".

Step 2: Take a print out of the Payment Advice form.

Step 3: Pay the application fee in any one of the following methods:

  1. Deposit Rs.1000/- in cash, from any Core branch of State Bank of India, into the Current A/c No. 30463061882 of XIM, Bhubaneswar using Core Banking Services;
  2. Deposit Rs.1000/- in cash, from any branch of Axis Bank into the S/B Account No. 024010100084039 of XIM, Bhubaneswar;
  3. Get a demand draft for Rs.1000/- in favour of "Xavier Institute of Management", and payable at Bhubaneswar.

Step 4: Send the payment advice form along with the original bank remittance slip (counterfoil) or DD to:

On receipt of the application fee and the payment advice form (with photograph & signature), XIMB admissions office will authenticate the payment and a computer generated email confirmation will be sent to your email id regarding acceptance of your online application.

Subsequently, the information Bulletin-2009 will be mailed to the present address given in the online form.


XIMB 2009 Selection Process

1. Postgraduate Diploma in Management, 2009-11. (MBA equivalent PGDM)

Candidates short-listed on the basis of XAT scores will be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview, which will be held at Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Mumbai. Candidates will have to meet their own travel expenses.

The final selection will be based on the candidate's performance in the XAT, Group Discussion and Personal Interview, and will take into account the past academic record and relevant work experience.

2. Postgraduate Diploma in Rural Management, 2009-11. (PGDRM)

Candidates short-listed on the basis of written test (IRMA Test or XAT) scores will be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview at Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata or Mumbai. Candidates will have to meet their own travel expenses.

The final selection will be based on the candidate's performance in the written test, the Group Discussion & Personal Interview, and will take into account the past academic record and relevant work experience.

3. Postgraduate Diploma in Management, 2009-12, for working executives. (PGDM-PT)

Eligible candidates will be called for Personal Interview session at Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata or Mumbai.

Screening for interviews will be based on a candidate's past academic performance and relevant work experience.Candidates will have to meet their own travel expenses.

Programme Design:

This three-year part-time programme is designed for executives, working anywhere anywhere in the country. The curriculum is similar to our two-year full-time PGDM programme. The participants will reside in the campus for 15 days at a stretch, thrice a year (45 days in a year).

In the intervening period, they are expected to complete the assigned readings and projects.

4. Doctoral Level Fellow Programme in Management. (FPM)

The applicant must write any one of the following written tests: CAT, UGC NET, XAT, or the XIMB Research Aptitude Test (XIMB-RAT). XIMB-RAT will be conducted only at Bhubaneswar, at 3:00 pm on 3 January 2009. Based on their performance in the written test as well as their academic and professional achievements, a selected group of applicants will be invited to our campus at Bhubaneswar for an assessment of their research aptitude and preparedness for taking up doctoral-level work in management.

All the invited applicants will be offered local hospitality, but no travel allowance.
